Volunteering at Rowan Arts Charity to produce Tufnell Park Life
Rowan Arts is an art charity based in Holloway. I designed the visual identity and design elements for Tufnell Park Life project. This is a hub for the locals in Tufnell Park area to collaborate with each other and to be more integrated to the community.
Creating a banner which would represent the local area
I began by taking a walk in the Tufnell Park area. I noticed how peaceful and full of greenery the area was, and how each building had a characteristic about it. This is when I decided to focus on buildings in the area to be used in the banner
Branding Tufnell Park
Rowan Arts has previous created projects for other areas in Islington. The branding for most of these has involved circular shapes, which I decided to incorporate into my design. When I was handed this project, I did not know anything about this area. I assumed that there would have to be a big park that gave the name to the area. However, when visiting the area I realised that there is no park. This is the reason for the white circle in the logo design, representing the non-existent park.
In terms of typography, I chose Baskerville because the area has a sense of elegance and history to it.
